What Yap does
Yap records audio, transcribes it on your iPhone, and turns eligible notes into a title, summary, key points, and action items — an AI Note. It also searches your archive and answers questions grounded in what you recorded.
Yap is a note-taking tool. It is not a legal, medical, journalistic, compliance, evidentiary, or emergency service, and an AI Note is not a certified or verbatim record.
Recording is your responsibility
You are responsible for recording lawfully. Consent requirements for recording another person differ by country, state, and situation, and some places require every participant to agree. Yap does not know where you are, who is in the room, or what you have agreed, and it cannot obtain consent for you. Processing audio on your own device does not make a recording lawful, privileged, confidential, or admissible.
Do not use Yap to record anyone you are not permitted to record.
Accuracy
Transcription and AI Notes are produced by machine-learning models and will sometimes be wrong — misheard words, missed speech, a wrong speaker, or a summary that omits something you consider important. Yap keeps the original recording and links summaries and actions back to the source segment so you can check them. Check anything that matters before relying on it.
Purchases
Yap Pro is billed by Apple through your App Store account.
- Monthly and yearly subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel.
- Cancel at any time in Settings → your name → Subscriptions. Cancelling stops the next renewal; it does not retroactively refund the current period.
- If the yearly plan is offered with a free trial, cancelling before the trial ends avoids the charge.
- Yap Pro Lifetime is a one-time purchase, not a subscription.
- Current prices and any offer you are eligible for are shown by the App Store at the moment of purchase and are authoritative.
- Refunds are handled by Apple, not by Novarynix, at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Buying Pro never gates your own data. Recording, transcription, playback, correction, recovery, and plain-text export of your notes remain available without paying.
Availability
Yap runs on iPhone with iOS 26 or later. Some capabilities depend on your device and settings: AI Notes generated by Apple Intelligence require a supported device, and devices without it use Yap's on-device extractive summarizer instead. Live transcription depends on the language you record in. iCloud sync depends on your Apple Account, your iCloud storage, and network conditions.
Novarynix may change or discontinue features in future versions.
No warranty; limitation of liability
Yap is provided "as is," without warranty of any kind to the extent permitted by law. Keep your own copies of anything you cannot afford to lose. Novarynix is not liable for lost recordings, lost or inaccurate transcripts, missed commitments, or consequential damages arising from your use of Yap. Nothing here limits rights you have under mandatory consumer law in your country.
